Around the Web: You’ve heard of Air Force one — now meet Marine One

President Donald Trump travels aboard Marine One en route to Dover Air Force Base. President Trump made an unannounced trip on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, to honor the returning remains of a U.S. Navy SEAL, Chief Special Warfare Operator William "Ryan" Owens, who was killed during a raid in Yemen on January 29, 2017. Air Force One is a specially fitted Boeing 747 for the exclusive travel of the President of the United States and his close aides,  to locations around the world. In times of war, the president boards Air Force One and remains airborne until the crisis tides. The aircraft has a special command centre. If necessary, the president can direct a strategic attack in warfare — or issue commands to launch nuclear missiles — from this airborne command centre. There is a Hollywood movie titled “Air Force One” starring Harrison Ford as the President of the United States.

There are two such planes in operation.

Now what about Marine One?

According to Wikipedia, Marine One is the call sign of any United States Marine Corps aircraft carrying the President of the United States. It usually denotes a helicopter operated by Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1 “Nighthawks”), either the large Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King or the newer, smaller VH-60N “White Hawk”. A Marine Corps aircraft carrying the Vice President has the call sign Marine Two.
