Everyone’s level of vision differs and that’s why we have a power measurement for each of our eyes and prescription glasses. It’s the same with our hearing – everyone hears differently. And if one’s hearing isn’t accurate, one will not be able to hear softer sounds in speech and music. It becomes difficult to distinguish a speaker’s words. But sound personalization technology can correct this hearing deficiency. Mimi, a leading German hearing technology brand, just announced a new partnership with Everlisten, a company whose goal is to rethink hearing loss through digital solutions for younger generations. Yes, even the young can suffer from hearing impairment and this solution makes youth aware of the importance of hearing health. Mimi was an exhibitor at the just concluded CES 2021 show.
Mimi is also launching its first health industry-focused hearing test product. The newly launched Mimi Health Hearing Test was registered as a CE marked class 1 medical device under MDD, delivered through a software development kit (SDK). The test is now available in the new Everlisten iOS and Android apps, marking Mimi Health’s first partner integration.
Ultimately, the partnership and new app will promote hearing health and awareness to younger adults, encouraging users to think about their hearing health and current hearing ability, and to break the stigma around hearing impairment in younger demographic. A smartphone, a pair of headphones, a quiet place and a few minutes to take the hearing test in the Everlisten app is all users need to gain insights about their hearing.
“The collaboration with Everlisten, as Mimi Health’s launch partner integration, allows us to create a synergistic partnership with the Everlisten team to raise awareness amongst younger generations to learn about their hearing health and consider current hearing ability. Hearing impairment can affect anybody, but we want to help break the stigma among young adults,” says Mimi Health General Manager Tim von Klitzing.
Everlisten App
Everlisten was founded in March 2020, by Markus Jausovec and Alexander Petschar, with the mission to promote health and awareness to younger generations.
“With the Everlisten app you always have your personal hearing test with you, and can gain insights into your own hearing at any time. All you need is a smartphone, a pair of headphones, a quiet place and a few minutes to take the hearing test”, says Everlisten co-founder Markus Jausovec.
In addition to the test, the app also provides valuable content on the subject of hearing health, including tips and tricks on how to protect your hearing from a younger age. For those with mild or severe hearing loss, Everlisten supports users in finding and contacting an audiologist.
The Everlisten app is now available for download on both iOS and Android devices.

Mimi Sound Personalization
Mimi bridges the gap between hearing and audio. Its technology can personalize the sound experience, tailored to your unique hearing ability. Mimi Sound Personalization is a unique processing technology that replicates the way the human ear works. It adapts the audio signal to a user’s hearing ability, compensating for less than perfect hearing. Mimi helps the ear transmit more information to the brain, compensating for hearing ability. More sounds become audible again and details otherwise lost are restored. The result is a sound experience where listeners can hear more again, and are better able to enjoy music and to follow dialogue. With Mimi, music and film audio is richer and more involved. Instruments become more distinguishable, and dialogue clearer, for a better and more enjoyable sound experience.
Young listeners tend to use headphones for long periods. Prolonged listening at high volumes can be detrimental to hearing health. But Mimi technology enables the user to listen at reduced volume levels without any loss of detail. And that makes listening more comfortable by reducing the fatigue that comes from longer listening sessions.
So with Mimi technology, it becomes easier to concentrate when watching a film or listening to music.
