NASSCOM Announces Retail Tech Day 2020

With the aim to bring together the retail sector for a deep-dive on how technology is shaping the present and future of the retail industry in India, NASSCOM 10,000 Startups and NIPP (NASSCOM Industry Partnership Program) announces the NASSCOM Retail Tech Day 2020. The two-day virtual conference scheduled to be held on 3rd – 4th August 2020, will bring together sector experts and leaders from across India and the globe to discuss the growing need for implementing tech innovation, vital for the next retail horizon in the country. The theme for NASSCOM Retail Tech Day 2020, “Transformation through Innovation” will deep-dive into hyper-digitalization, contactless operating models, and other emerging technologies in the retail industry, via virtual, interactive, and short engaging sessions.

The retail industry in India is one of the top-five retail markets in the world by economic value. It is expected to double by 2024 and reach US$1.4 trillion. The industry is undergoing a significant transformation as a result of changing consumer behaviour, growth of organized retail and entry of multiple global players. The opportunity for digitalization is immense with emerging technologies set to play a pivotal role in the retail industry. This will be even more pertinent as the economy looks to recover amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

Keeping technology at the forefront, the conference will aim to discuss several touchpoints highlighting the sector’s recovery during the pandemic, technology adoption, transformation through innovation and adopt solutions to mitigate challenges such as logistic and supply chain disruption, required for the sector’s resurgence post COVID.
